Crystals and Minerals
Here are a few more specimens from my collection.
Agate
We sometime tend to take agate for granted because it is such a common stone but it is anything but common in its beauty and versatility. Agate comes in a huge variety of colours and patterns. Here are a few examples that I’ve collected over the years.
Agate is an excellent protection and grounding stone that is believed to strengthen the body’s connection to the earth. It can also lesson feelings of envy by grounding the emotions. It is said to give courage, energy and strength, dispel fears and increase self-confidence. It can also be used to help improve and harmonize relationships. It is also believed to bring good luck.
Ammonite
Ammonite is a fossil created from the remains of a shelled cephalopod that lived from the Mesozoic Era, until the late Cretaceous, about 65 million years ago. One of only two organic gemstones (the other being amber) ammonite is believed to radiate positive Earth energy, and to bring good luck and prosperity to those who wear it. Ammonite is also used for general good health, stamina and energy and is said to grant miracles. It is an excellent tool for deep meditation. |

Spessartine Garnet
|
Known as the Garnet of the Sun, Spessartine is one of the lesser known and rarer varieties of Garnet. Like all Garnet it is a highly protective stone. It helps to ward off bad dreams, depression and anger and increases self-esteem. It is said to enhance the analytical processes of the mind but also stimulates aspects of creativity. It is a good stone for artists and others who express themselves through creative energy. |
Tiger Eye
Tiger eye is used to increase wealth and vitality, something we could all use, and is considered beneficial for new business start-ups. I keep a small piece in my cash box. It is also believed to enhance willpower and personal empowerment, it lessens weakness and unclear thinking.

Fascinating stuff here, CJ. I didn’t know Ammonite was organic… I thought Amber was the only organic gem. (And now I understand why I’ve felt attracted to Tiger Eye and jasper… maybe to answer a need?)
Thanks!

Stones are something that have never truly been my forte no matter how hard I have tried. This article has clarified and simplified a lot of things and I loved how well-written it is. Great job Carol–can’t wait for more of your blogs!
